hoof wall angle matching with pastern

Question
hello, why hoof wall angle of a horse should be same as that of the pastern? why should the pastern be roughly 45 to 50degrees, why not more than 45 or less than 45degrees?

Answer
Horses should hit the ground evenly with their feet.
Not toe first or heel first.
Some of this is determined by the breed (conformation) of the horse.
Front foot alignment (angle) of Thoroughbreds tends to be 50 to 53 degrees. Cold blooded
horses usually more like 52 to 55 degrees.

This causes leg and joint to take less stress of weight and movement of the horse.

Hind legs are often steeper in angle...52 to 55 degrees.
