Thrush/ davis boots?

Question
Hello,
I have two horses, a Belgian/Saddlebred cross, and a Canadian Percheron gelding. The Percheron is 18 months, and has fairly severe thrush in two of his feet. The vet has us soaking his feet with clean trax, and then wrapping w/ a sort of "protective boot" of vet wrap and duct tape to keep the feet dry. It is improving, however he can't be outside because even just walking him around on a lead will cause the "boots" to fall off.
My question is should I try Davis boots on him? Do you leave those on all the time, or are they too airtight and would cause the thrush to get worse? Are Davis boots made to be worn all the time? thanks in advance for any type of info you can give me, I have never had a horse with thrush before, and I sure can use any suggestions you can give.
Thank you.

Answer
THIS WILL SOUND TOO SIMPLE, BUT IT WORKS.

FORGET THE BOOTS, CLEAN THE HOOFS WELL, USE THRUSHBUSTER IN THE THRUSH AREAS. BRING IN AT NIGHT DO AGAIN THEN PACK THE HOOF WITH BAKING SODA, PRESSING INTO THE THRUSH AREAS,HOLD IN PLACE WITH SHEET,COTTON, THEN WRAP  THE HOOF WITH VETRAP TO KEEP THE COTTON AND BAKING SODA IN PLACE.

IN JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS, YOU WILL SEE A BIG IMPROVEMENT

                           GOOD LUCK
