Question
My daughters 12.2 pony leo is becoming a problem he is always dropping his head when she ask's for canter and after a jump, i first thought it was just because she was not strong enough, but as i am small have rode him myself and he pulls the rains from my hand. What can we do? I have tried a daisy rain and this only stops the problem a little. I want him to fully stop this habbit.

Answer
Dear Amanda:
I'm afraid jumper is not my discipline but I would suggest a chambon check rein- he'll nail himself when he goes to pull. I do not however suggest that you have your child use it unless she is VERY competent and under the supervision of an experienced adult or her coach. Ponies can be notorious for being evasive as they tend to be much smarter than the average horse. Don't be at all surprised if as soon as you cure this evasion, he develops something new. It can be VERY frustrating. I would suggest that you consult with some of the other experts who specialize in jumper.
Best wishes.
