Question
my moms horse is suposley pregnant they have said this for 2 years so she is soooo big she looks like she is having twins is this possible.

Answer
Hi Tonya.
No horse carries foals for 2 years. If she was bred and was pregnant at one time, it sounds like the foal could have died and she retained it.
I would check with the stallion owner and find the dates this mare was supposedly bred, or if she was pasture bred find out the dates she was turned out with the stallion. (For example 3/15-4/1/07).
Although all mares are a little different, most "normal" pregnacies in healthy mares are around 11 months long. It's been my experience that a fat mare is harder to get in foal and may also carry the foal a little longer. The longest pregnancy I have ever seen (that was documented with palpation and ultrasound checks) lasted 12 months and 1 day.
I would say you probably should have your vet come out (or take the mare to an equine clinic or hospital) and have the mare totally checked out. If by chance she was pregnant, the foal died and she didn't pass the dead foal, it is important for the situation to be taken care of.
Hope things work out for you and your mom's mare.
