Dear Anne: I realise this may not be the regular questions you are asked but here goes.
I am trying to get information about race horse and the personalities, what are their physical characteristics, Why they wear blinders, there endurance compared to other breeds, how to train them,what to look for in a good horse. Is there a good book to read up on training a race horse for information.          Thanks Juli Bohlsen

   Most of my experience is with Standardbreds. There is no book that will make you a trainer--regardless of breed. I'd suggest going to your local track or a local farm and getting a job cleaning stalls. Work your way up from there. I haven't met a trainer yet that didn't start out at the end of a pitch fork.
