HI, We have a 3 month old paint filly. Lately when I take her and Mom out for excercise she will eat dirt,or lick it. She has a salt block avaliable at all times, and eats grain with mom. What could she be lacking in her diet? She has been wormed. I have seen her lick the salt block. Thank you

 What type of salt block does she have?  Is it a white, all salt one, or a mineral salt block?  If it is a plain white salt lick, she may be missing out on some vitamins or minerals, and I recommend a good foal supplement, such as grow colt.  She may also just be exploring her surroundings.
