pony leg problem

Question
Hi I have owned my pony for the last 5 years and was not aware but found out after I bought her that she had very bad laminitis in the past. The guy that owned her before me used to take her out of her 3 acre field and graze her even whilst she had laminitis, this is what I have found out since buying her.
In the past 12 months she has started to knock at her knees constantly and when she is ridden she drops her legs. I always ride her for approx half an hour and then walk her back and recently I have found that she is dragging her front left leg occasionally(seems to be where the grass is).
I have had the vet out numerous times and he has nerve blocked her with a negative result, he states that it is arthritis and had put her on Newmarket joint powder and butte for life also I give her apple cider vinegar and garlic. All this and she seems no better what can I do.

Answer
hi Sharron,
well id have to say your vet is right. your pony has a bad case of arthritis. you can get some bengay and rub your horses legs down with it before and after you ride her. icyhot works as well too. depending on her age id say its about times shes retired or used as a light riding horse. other then that give her msn and grand flex ( almost any joint supplement will help.) good luck with your pony and i hope she gets better.
