Question
Do you know if there are any natural ways to treat this.  I know that you can use diet but are there any more natural medications or any other supplements or ??? that will help this problem.

Answer
i dont understand why you feel that the diet approach is somehow unnatural. All living things have a diet to live. Using the diet to control this is simply a matter of feeding low potassium feeds and hay and making sure you have some grain handy if and when an "attack" occurs. There is nothing more natural than using the feed god made for horses to control this disease. Medications and supplements are MUCH less "natural" than a dietary approach. Horses dont naturally ingest medications and supplements in nature or by themselves, but they do eat the hays and feeds we use that are low in potassium. You say "any other" but I dont know what the other things you have used are. Some of the intensity of management of this disease is dependent on how severe it is in the horse being managed. Also, you are asking to "naturally" treat a disease that was introduced into the Quarter Horse lines by unnatural means- that is by selective breeding. Therefore, it may also be difficult to expect to treat such an unnatural disease with only natural products and approaches. Again, this is VERY doable if the the horse is a hererozygote and is not severely affected. In this case- DIET is the most natural way to control this. Hope this helps. Im here if you have any other followup questions.
