pony that is scared of water

i have three ponies one of wich is very scared of water. We have had her for quite a few years but the lady we bought her off thinks that she was abused by the  owner before her(she is scared of sticks).Is there any way of getting her used to water?

The best way to get a horse/pony to accept water is to have another horse lead into the water.  Take one that is not afraid of the pond, creek, or stream, and let the frightened one see the other pony walk through or into it.  Chances are that the frightened pony will follow.  If it does not follow at first, be patient and plan to stay by the waterside for several hours. I do believe that if you continue to allow the frightened pony see the other one play in the water, it will eventually go into it.

It may take several tries, but patience is called for here, and determination. You may even have to wade in and coax it in.
