Questionhello Lyn, regarding bit mouthpiece material, which one is soft for the horse jaw irrespective of how strong or weak the horse jaw is? i mean stainless steel, sweet iron, copper alloy, aluminum etc.
AnswerRohit,
The softest bits are not metal but made of mylar, nylon or rubber. Some horses like one kind of bit over another, in metal bits sweet iron seems to be a favorite. Biggest factor in the bit is not so much the material it's made of as the hands that are using it. Heavy hands will make the mouthpiece harder on the horse's mouth.
