miniature horse/american shetland mix

we are cosidering buying this mix breed pony. what would be the approx. safe weight limit for a rider on a 33 inch mini/shetland mix?

Hello,
Depends entirely on the bone of this horse.  If the pony is stocky and has thick stout legs, I would say 75 lbs. max. for the occasional one minute ride, max. 50 lbs. for a longer ride, 40 lbs. max. for a long ride with trotting/cantering/ect.  I, at 115 lbs., occasionally sit on my 36" refined mare, but for only seconds.  The stock type ponies are usually very strong and capable of handling a heavier rider.
