a. trotting poles
b. place ploes to a fence out of trot
c. place poles to a fence out of canter
d. ONE (1) non-jumping stide
e. TWO (2) non-jumping strides
AnswerHello Stacey,
There is no set distance for poles. It depends on the length of your horse's stride, his speed, gait, his level of training, what you are trying to accomplish, i.e. are you trying to lenghten his stride or shorten it? Badly placed poles or an inexperienced rider can ruin a good horse. You need an accomplished ground person.
Training a horse to jump requires much knowledge and experience. Please look for a qualified trainer who can help you.
Happy jumping,
Dorothy
