yellow belly slider tail

Question
Our yellow belly slider's tail is staying close against 'his' body to the right. Jim is about 2 inches in diameter.I don't know his age.(or sex) We rescued him from my job's gravel parking lot in March and he was about the size of a half dollar then. His tail has been this way for about two weeks and has not straightened out. Do you know what this is and what may cause Jim's tail to do this. It looks like it may be growing to his hind section that way. He is not acting sickly, he is active and eating and seems fine. His habitat is a ten gallon tank that is filtered and heated. He has rocks and a light for basking. I take him out to feed him and he eats turtle sticks well. He seems healthy. What do you think?

Answer
Tucking the tail is not a big deal- lots of turtles do it all the time. You may want to pull it out if he will let you and give everything a good wash, but I am unaware of any real concerns in this area.
