Do the males claws need cutting

Answer
The claws of the male are naturally longer and shouldn't need cutting under normal circumstances.  If you have basking areas with some surface roughness for the turtle(s) to climb out on, that will provide wearing action for the claws and you shouldn't need to trim them.
