Armadillo lizard tail

While handling my Armadillo lizard recently, she bolted and my hand closed over her tail to catch her.  When I checked her over to make sure I hadnt hurt her, I noticed a white line in the underside tail armor and was afraid I have damaged her tail.  Do these lizards lose their tails or do they break off?  She appears fine and there was no bleeding or other damage to the area.  What should I watch for?

Kira, I honestly don't know if this species can "drop" their tails or not... SORRY!  Look for any color change, bad smells could indicate necrosis as well.  Most lizards that can drop their tails do so quite easily so since your's didn't come off I think you're probably ok.
