Question
QUESTION: I noticed something yesterday after I gave him his nightly crickets. After I did so I took him out and was spraying him to help him finishs shedding the top of his neck. After I got done I held him for a bit, and I noticed he was puffing out his beard some, but it wasn't turning black. He would also hold his mouth open some, but not hiss. When I tried to look in his mouth he would shut it right away. I noticed that each time he puffed out his beard. The side of his lower jaw were it is puffy and spongy would push out, and roll up on itself some. He has one more day of the Albion, and this morning it looks like one side has gotten better. It isn't a weird color or sticking out more then his top lip. The other side looks just a tad bit better then yesterday, but it didn't get better until I put his reptisun 10.0 UVB floursent tube in the tank on his back wall. After having it in there all day yesterday. This morning the one side his better. His tongue is a bit yellow, but his gums look really pink. Both look the same as when I got him from pet supermarket.

ANSWER: Hello Will,

I really wish that you could get a picture of that for me.  His tongue is yellow, or just plain pale in color, or could that be from food, or is it literal tissue color?
Sorry about the questions, I am just trying to get a visual here.
So, he appears to be getting a little better?  His beard is not black now?
How is his appetite doing today?
How long are you giving him from feeding him at night, to where his lights go out for his bedtime?  He needs at least 2 hours prior to lights out between his last meal so he can digest his food properly before going to sleep.
Is there any dicharge at all coming from the mouth or gums area?  That is great his gums are pink, that is normal then.

QUESTION: I'd love to get a picture, but I can't get him to open his mouth. He just does it sometimes. If I try to to grab his top jaw and lift. He just squirms free, and trys to run for it. The tongue tissue is a yellowish/pale color. When he puffs out his beard it is never black. It looks normal colored still. I have seen them and they are completly black, but his just keeps the normal stress lines with the white still there. I feed him at 8:30pm when I get home, and he goes to bed at 11pm. I had to put the 75 watt basking bulb back in because the 50 watt wasn't getting hot enough. The other day when he pooped he still had some vegetables in his poop.

ANSWER: Hello Will,

Well, at least he doesn't have a continuous black beard so he must not be in pain or distress right now.
Ok, that is plenty of time for him to digest then from his meal to his bedtime no problem.
So, what are the temperatures getting to now, did you recheck them?  Yeah, if he was not digesting properly you will see chunks of undigested food in his stool.
Is the entire tongue pale or yellowish in color, or just the tip of it?

QUESTION: It looks like just the tip of his tongue is pale. You asked also if his lower lipw as shedding. It already shed, and where he started to shed at is where it is puffy and sticks out a bit more then his upper jaw. With the 75 watt bulb his basking spot gets to 110-115. His cool side is still getting to about 86 degrees during the day, and the fan isn't helping. It's been really hot so far here in Florida.

Answer
Hello Will,

Well, the end of the tongue is normally a whitish/pale color in appearance.  So the puffiness is causing that area to be swollen & stick out more than normal?
How is the inside of the mouth looking now?
Wow, you are going to have to switch out those basking bulbs so the basking temps don't get quite so hot. He is going to overheat with those temps!
Yes, it has been very hot here in Florida, we are in Silver Springs, where are you?
