Question
hi,
i bought a leopard gecko at a reptile show and the person who sold him to me said he was raised on mealworms but would take crickets. ever since i've given him crickets he wont eat his mealworms what should i do?

Answer
Hi Justin,

Ideally it is best to keep some variety in his diet but refusing mealworms is not something to be worried about. Crickets are frequently considered the best staple diet. Keep offering mealworms now and then, he will likely go back to them at some point. Many reptiles actually prefer mealworms, likely because of their higher fat content. You can also try some of the other feeders like waxworms, Phoenix worms or small silkworms for variety.
