Question
Cathy - I have a Saharan Uro who is around 6 years of age. Always lived alone and still does in a 100 gal. glass tank. He has always been active and has had a great appetite of veggies from kale, mustard greens, spinach, romaine, and even broccoli which he was really into.
However for the last 3-4 weeks he has become dormant and has no appetite at all. He looks completely fine, has great color, no signs of impaction, or anything like that. But seems to be lethargic and will not eat.
So today I come home and he has passed something through that looks white and mucus brown like, a very good size. (have photo) He also layed up next to the glass and looked very flat. He has moved around since yet he still wont eat? What is going on? I unfortunately can't seem to find any exotic vets near where I live either.
I appreciate all your help in this matter.

Answer
Hi. I'm sorry to hear about ur little guy. It is very serious when a uro stops eating. He may have had an impaction. U can't always see or feel them. Here's what u can try. Get an eyedropper. Blend his food mix with pedialyte and force feed. Put him in a bath of warm  water. This usually helps him pass whatever is inside and needs to get out.  if he begins to eat on his own he will soon recover but if not he will die. Good luck. And let me know what happens.
