Question
Hello I am getting a chinese green water dragon in a week, I have everything for him except his uv light & fixture which I'm picking up wen I get him. My questions are:

how long will it take for him to reach adult size?

Do I need to dust his meal(with vitamins) everytime I feed him?

How long can he live in a 33 gallon tank before he outgrows it?

thank you for any help you can give

Answer
Hi,

I realize your questions are different than most of other questions. I'll try my best to answer them.

First of all. Chinese Green Water Dragon do live a long life span more than one year. It's hard to say exactly how long they live. sometimes it depends on how they are well taken care of.

Second thing- You really don't need to dust the mealworms everytime you feed your dragon. I will say once a week.

Third answer - If you can't keep him in 33 gallon tank. He need to be in a bigger gallon tank. like a 55 gallon tank. Which is more costly these days. after you keep him in a 33 gallon tank..You will have to make the choice to keep him or give him up to an expert that knows how to handle a Chinese Green Water Dragon. Because they sometimes get aggressive toward owners. Make sure you wash your hands after feeding him. If you don't. He might want to get your hand instead of his food that you prepared for him. So, be extra careful with him. There growth is pretty long. which it's : 36 inches long.
Feed only 3 - 4 times a week to prevent obesity.
Humidity should be 75 - 85 degrees. spray daily.
Habitat: Branches for climbing: pool for drinking and bathing.
Substrate: Mixed potting compost, leaf litter and sphagnum moss, 4 inches deep.
Temperature: 30 degrees C at cool end, 35 C at hot degrees spot; 24 degrees C at night. Photoperiod: 14 hours. Provide a full spectrum ( UVB ) light and basking lamp.

  This should help you out.
