my poor ball python

Question
About two weeks ago I adopted a ball python from a girl off craigslist, and when i picked it up she told me he had just gotten 'sick'. She said he wouldn't eat one day so she took him to her work (pet hospital)and they gave him a shot and told her he would be tired for a few days. I took him from her (out of her car which she claimed to have placed him in only minutes before) and when i moved him to my car.. checked his temp.. and it was 110 degrees in there. He was so ill when I got to him, he was motionless and stretched out.
I immediately put him in a cooler place to slowly bring him back to temp and have just been loving him.  For the past 4 or 5 days I have been holding  him every day and he seems active and curious and comfortable.  However, numerous times over the week I have tried to feed him both live and frozen mice.. and he is uninterested and uncaring for them. I know he ate mice before all of this.. and I am worried he is losing too much weight.. (he is about 7 months by the way)
The only thing I can think of is... shortly after I got him, I noticed the wood chips from the floor of his tank were in his mouth and I had to pick each and every one out with tweesers. (I dont know what the previous owner was thinking.. they are too large) My thinking is that he swallowed one and cannot pass it.. and therefore not hungary? He is still active though. What should I do? I can have him  ex-rayed if that is necessary or logical.. or maybe force feeding him raw quail egg with a dropper? Any advice? please help
Sincerely,
Brigid

PS~ His name is 'Tree'

Answer
hi brigid,
for sure if you think that he may have swallowed chips do have him x-rayed to make sure isnt impacted, also im sure you know that balls are very difficult eaters, and if wild caught from africa they will go up to a year with out eating in captivity, the naturally dont recognize mice as food in the wild, if are feeding mice try to get brown or dark colored ones try to feed at night also you may want to try covering the tank when uyou feed,he for sure got way to hot by over 15 degrees so it is greaat that he/she survived that, keep me posted and thanks for the question
