my skink has to bumps on her on both sides right across from each other i think she is sick she is shedding only on the bumps and no where else she has a floresent light and its not very hot but its bright and its not a proper light for her her cage has never been cleaned ive had her for a year she is an adult i think i dont no but i think she is she has never been to the vet she stays in her cage most of the time she some what eats and some what absorbs water through her skin but i dont no what to do she has had the bumps for about 1-3 bumps am i doing something wrong she has about a foot and a half long tank and not even a foot high so ya i dont think thats good she doesnt have vines because its not high enough for her so ya i dont no what to do i know what she was in at the pet store should i get everything for her from the pet store including the food and everything because i dont know and i know what she was in(the enviroment in her cage) would that be good i dont no much about skinks but im gunna get a couple of books but any suggestions? URGENT

 If you have had her for a year without cleaning the cage and without proper lighting, chances are she may have MBD, a bone disease, parasites, or both.  The first thing is for her to be checked by a good herp vet immediately.  You can go to www.herpvetconnection.com for one nearest you.  Second, clean and disinfect that cage, remove all old substrate.  Rinse the tank several times with boiling water after cleaning and washing with disinfectant like Nolvasan.  
 Since there are a wide variety of different skinks, I would go to Reptilerooms.com, go to the Forums, identify your species of skink and get up to date info on the care for that specific type of skink.  Books are almost always out of date as soon as they are printed, since new things about reptiles are being discovered everyday.
