Anoles are stressed

Question
I have 2 green anoles in a ten gallon. They are always brown not green. I feed them small crickets and small meal worms. The temputer is 75 and I leave my 15 watt UV light on 24-7. My humidity is usally around 60. In the tank I have vines and drift wood for them to play on and because they are stressed is that why they are not eating?

Answer
Hello John, First of all do you know the gender of these two lizards? Two males should NEVER be housed together and especially in such a small tank. You need a larger tank for two of any gender so that should help too. Your options:
1) If they are too young to sex or you are unsure get one more 10 gallon and one more uv light and one more heat lamp. House them separately. You will see a difference in color
2) If they are both male do the same as above.
3) If they are both female then get a larger 20 gallon tank and keep the same lights.
4) If you have one of each I suggest separating as it can be stressful to the female if you are not entending to breed them.
5) If separation is not an option sell one or buy a much much larger tank perhaps a 40 gallon tall tank.

Ok so we got that settled. The UV light should not be on 24/7 only 12-14 hours a day. They need time without light so they can sleep. I like the temperature but I think maybe 78F would be better and might make them happier. Raise the humidity drammatically it should be more around 78% at the least 73% So leave a water dish in there and mist the tank a little more often. I realised that my two green anoles HATE being misted but if you provide a hide for them they will just go hide when you mist and come back out after your done. I think that there is a dominant and territorial ordeal between them right now. They need more territory for themselves. A much larger tank or two separate tanks. Its needed for the health of you little guys. Let me know how it goes Good luck.
