Snakes in NJ

Question
Are there any snakes that live in urban New Jersey? I'm a wannabe herpetologist, but I have only seen snakes around once or twice, and lizards never.

(I live in a small suburban town in northern New Jersey, and there's a small patch of woods in my back yard).
