Beardie Mating

Question
I just added a male to what I believe to be my female's 55gallon setup. The male immediately bobbed and what I first thought attacked the other. The one believed to be female has an incredibly dark beard and I was to understand thats a sign of a male. She also looked frazzled to see another dragon with her and she flared out her pancake midsection. The male attempted to mount the female but had no luck as she kept running away with her beard and mouth open. Is this mating rituals or are they both males? Would 2 males fight to the death, because they are now basking on top one another.

Answer
Females also beard and bite.  It is never a ood idea to introduce a male into a female's territory, but a female can enter a male's territory.

I my opinion, each beardie needs their own habitat.  the male will only pester the female for mating, stressing her out and shortening her lifespan.
