Newt co housing

Question
I have had my 1 fire bellied newt for almost a year and was thinking of getting
another cause he seems lonely. is this stupid after such a long time and would
there be a great risk of them fighting and hurting each other? Thanks.

Hi Laura, Fire bellied newts co-habitate quite well. There is no  worry about them fighting or injuring each other.  If you are housing two then I would suggest at least a 10 gallon tank. A second newt will produce that much more waste so if you don't have a filter you might have to do water changes a bit more often to compensate for that.
