The perfect home for my new Eastern Collared Lizard

Question
I have asked a few questions before and so far you have helped me out so I wanted to ask you another question. I am wanting to buy an Eastern Collared Lizard. I have never owned a lizard or any type of reptile for that matter so I was wondering what to look for when I go to buy one like how they should act and all of that, so I don't buy one that is sick or something. Also I have seen stuff on the Internet about Captive Born ones and I was wondering if I should get a Captive Born one? Also I was wondering what kind of environment would be the best for my lizard? Right now in my lizards new home (i haven't got the lizard yet) I have calcium sand, a hide rock, a wood thing for climbing, and a water and food dish. I have a 8.0 UVB bulb on top on one side of the tank. and then on the bottom I have an under tank heater just a small one in the middle of the tank. I also have two thermometers one at each end of the tank, and I have a hygrometer in the middle of the tank. So I was wondering if what I have is good and what temperature the tank should be and all that. I just want my new pet to love its new home. So thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi David

I found a good care sheet for these guys that should help with your questions

My only concern with your set-up would be the use of the Calci-sand which has proved to cause blockage problems in many species of lizards when it is eaten
