QuestionCan you have 2 female leopard geckos in one cage. I'm thinking about getting
another female.
AnswerHi Jacob
Many people do successfully keep 2 females together but care should be taken to ensure that they are very close in size and weight
In other words-don't put a much smaller Leo in with an adult
Also-there should be a 90 day quarantine period -keeping both geckos in separate tanks to ensure that the new gecko has no parasites or other problems that can be transferred to your established healthy Gecko
You need to keep an eye on both females to ensure that one does not bully the other and stress it
Stress in Geckos can cause quick weight loss with refusal to eat and even death if it goes unnoticed over time
I personally keep almost all of my geckos in separate tank/tubs just to be on the safe side
With keeping them alone-it is much easier to monitor their feces should there be a health issue and you need a fecal sample
When keeping them together-both Geckos would need to be checked as there is no way to know which feces belongs to what Gecko
Good Luck with your geckos
