Beardies tongue and jaw problem

Question
Hi There,  I am worried about my 7 month old male Beardie. In the past few weeks I have noticed that the very tip of his tongue has become very pale - not as it was previously. Also his lower jaw appears slightly swollen or protruding, making it difficult for him to hold his tongue completely inside his mouth - it often sticks out slightly now. I am worried this could be MBD? He has Reptisun 10 UV strip light, tile substrate, eats veg's and crickets with occasional wax worms and mealworms. Temps are 110ish on basking side and 80 or so on the cool side. He poops ok..if a bit smelly - he is given water daily via a syringe (but also has water in his bowl) - so no dehydration hopefully. Bathed once a week usually. Calcium supp given every other day and vit sup once a week. I was wondering if there could possibly be some kind of infection in the tongue or jaw? Love my little boy so if a visit to the nearest Herp Vet is needed then I will make the hours journey to get there! He is ok temperament wise - but has always been a lazy beardy...likes to bask most of the time with occasional burst of energy. Any ideas would be great! Thanks in advance..Debbie

Answer
If your UVB light was new when you got the dragon (7 months ago) it is probably time to replace it.  Most of those are only good for 6 months.  But MBD would not have set in that quickly.  If the light was old when you got the dragon... maybe.  Your set-up sounds great.  You might want to visit the vet if for nothing else but your own piece of mind.
