Hello,                                                            I hsve a crestes gecko and him/her {not old enough to tell}, Has had shedding problems and ever sence the first shed when i got my gecko he has been unable to hold on to things like my hand. he has been eating normal and the humidity has been at 80-90 becuase i have a water fountain in the cage.yesterday he didnt get up till 10 at night when he usually gets up at 8:30ish the gecko has gone to the bath room latly also so that shouldnt be a problem.
                                   Thank you, Rick

Answer
Hi Rick, The higher humidity that you have now should help with future sheds but it will not correct the situation from the earlier shed problems. It sounds like he has retained skin on his toe pads which is preventing him from being able to cling to surfaces. This is the most common problem resulting from shed problems with arboreal geckos and can stress them out quite badly. The fact that yours is still eating is a good sign. This problem is fairly easy to resolve. You will need to manually and very gently remove the skin. The first step in to soak your gecko in a small amount of tepid water. His feet should remain in the water for at least 20 minutes or so. You will need to enclose him in one of those small, plastic food containers (with air holes of course!) to make him stay in there long enough. This will soften and loosen the old skin and you may be able to roll it off his toes or gently pull it with tweezers. If it still seems adhered then soak him a bit longer. The structures of the toes are fairly delicate so this must be done at gently as possible.
