Question
Sorry for continually bugging you, but I am at work, and can't get to the email right now. I don't think it is a problem, but ever since my bearded dragon used the bathroom the first time after getting him. He has been the same since, but it is weird. I keep seeing all over the place that bearded dragons only use the bathroom every few days. Mine goes to the bathroom about 30 minutes after being up and basking. Also again through out the day. I usually feed him twice a day. A hour after him beening up, and then when I first get home. On my days off I try to feed him in the middle of the day, and then he eats a little less at night. I am just curious as if something is wrong if he is using the bathroom so much. When he was shedding it was very runny, but after he shed it has gone back to being normal. I have had him for about a month now, and every time I see him he has the back stress marks under his chin, and the designs on his underbelly. Then this morning I noticed that normally he will hide under the paper towel in the corner to sleep. Once I turn on his lights he will get under the basking light after about 5 minuts minutes. This morning he didn't move from that spot to his light for a good 45 minutes. He even moved his head farther under the paper towels to keep the light off his eyes. I give him a multivitamin and Calcium with D3 once a week. I dust his crickets with plan calcium every feeding, and I try to do one wax worm a morning/night. Especially when I am holding him. I am feeding him collard greens (main green) mixed with a small amount of cabbage and kale. I also have chopped up sweet potato in there. I have a melon/strawberry mixture that I pour on top to try and get him to stay hydrated. I make sure to peel the outside of the strawberries before feeding them to him. I am going to be picking up more mustard greens tonight. I also will chop up all his veggies on Monday morning. Then I put them in little plastic containers with screw on tops. I usually dump this out/feed to crickets every Sunday night before I make him more.

Answer
Hi Will,
Many times, when the weather is dull and dismal, the reptiles tend to be couch potatoes.  Many don't even bask.  They are good weather indicators many times.
I would not give wax worms that much.  They can and do cause overweight beardies and also can cause fatty liver disease due to the high fat content of the wax worms.  Limit them to just a few once a week or less, especially if you see your beardie getting fat. Fat will deposit in the area around their armpits, which is where you will notice it very quickly.
As to the bathroom, it may be normal for your beardie.  It may also be from too many wax worms...When you get a chance, I would have a fecal check done for internal parasites.  All reptiles do have them, and actually need them for proper digestion...but its when the parasite load gets high, that they can cause problems.
Good on the only using a small amount of Kale and cabbage.  I would not add both to the same meals though.
Good on "stripping" the strawberries.  You are very lucky that you can keep your cut up greens that long!!! You must be able to get really fresh greens to last that long, especially cut up.
I use my stems, leftover greens, etc to feed the insects also.
