Other insects to feed my Green anole.

Question
I have one female green anole. I usually feed her 2-3 small crickets a day.For some reason, it is hard to keep the crickets alive and I end up having to go out 2 or 3 times a week to get more. I was wondering if you could suggest anything?

I heard meal worms aren't good for anoles (although my anole loves them)Prey being alive isn't an issue with her. I've seen her eat dead crickets. She also will try to eat other things that clearly are not living (bed sheets, computer, curtains...) I have seen the Anole food at the pet store and also freeze dried crickets. The freeze dried crickets are way too big for her though. I have also tried to give her the crickets that come in a can, she spat it out.

Answer
Hello Jessica,

Well, mealies can be fed just not in excess.  You can also look for phoenix worms which are not usually sold in the pet stores.  You can order them from online here:

They have the small ones which should be appropriately sized.
She might not like the freeze dried crickets though, alot do not like dead food most of the time.
What sized crickets do you feed?  They should be no larger than the space between the eyes.  How big is your green anole currently?
I would say small, 1/8th inch crickets maybe 1/4th inch crickets should be fine for her.
You could add a few waxworms in per week, if you want.  Everything in moderation, & a variety is good for them.
