My Iguana tail had been cut

Question
Yesterday my Iguana tried escaping through the front door, I had an emergency and raced outside not paying attention that she was trying to get out too.  The door clipped her tail about 6 inches into it but didn't completely come off.  It hung by a small thread so I used a sterile scalpel and cut the rest.  It is still bleeding and I'm not sure how badly the clip was from the door or what exactly has been cut.  I can't afford a vet and no one will see her unless I pay up front.  I love my Iguana and don't want to see her in pain or suffering.  She is still eating (constantly) and moves around and sleeps, she doesn't seem to affected by it but I don't want an infection to kick in.  Is there anything I can do to prevent infection and help her tail heal?

Answer
Make a dilution of Betadine and water till the solution looks like tea.  Dip the tail end in the solution a few times a day then apply neosporin.  Keep the enclosure very clean, mist everything but the tail.  Keep an eye on it for swelling, blackening or smell.  Please have the tail checked as soon as you can save up enough, or try a vet school.
