Question
QUESTION: About two days ago i bought a Green and Bahama anole, i have them both living together, and i don't know what to do to make them feel comfortable and how i should set up there cage. My Green anole from what i've seen has been brownish (at the store he was green). This is my first time having any kind of lizard and i want to make there life a good one, so if i could just have advice and help that would be great! Thank you.

ANSWER: Hello Katie,

Hm, well, housing a green anole & a bahama anole may not work out real well.  Are they both females?  Do you know?
It takes times for them to get over relocation stress when being brought into a new home.  You need to make sure the temperatures are good for them, using a bright white basking light & a full spectrum UVB light.  The best UVB light for them would be a Reptisun 10 tube bulb, placed 8 or so inches from them directly beside a basking light.
You need a digital probe or a temp gun to accurately measure the temps with.  The basking temperatures need to be around 88-95 or so, while the cooler end around 78 or so.  The humidity needs to run around 75% so you can use a water dish on the warm side to help with humidity.
They like climbing branches & limbs so ry to make a little jungle for them & places to hide as well.
Don't forget to use calcium supplementation for them several times a week too.

QUESTION: Before i bought them i asked if they could live together and the people at the pet store said i could, but i've been going online looking up how to keep them happy and healthy (thats how i found this website) and i've learned that they shouldn't live together, now i don't know what to do. I'm a teenager and i just got a job but i'm going to save my money to get the temperature gun. and i'll try to rearrange the cage so they will like it better. I'll also buy the other bulb, i have a heat lamp that sits right on top of the cage, but i don't think its working to weel because my green anole has been a redish-brown color. If i bought more and put them in the tank would they feel any better? Thank you so much for helping me!

ANSWER: Hello Katie,

Well, unfortunately, pet store clerks usually are not very knowledgeable on reptiles & are just trying to make a sale.
No, putting more in with them will make it worse.  You may have 2 males which is not going to work because they will fight.
Unfortunately, if your green one is that color, it is severely stressed & is not going to make it much longer without housing it separately.  Can you get a large plastic bin from walmart to house him or her in leaving the other one in the tank it is in now?  That would most likely help, immediately.

QUESTION: Thank you so much! and i'll separate them, but i think they mated the bahama anole was on top of the green and theres a wierd whitish type gew in the tank. Does this mean the green anole is pregnaunt? She also is turning green a lot more.

Answer
Hello Katie,

Well, the whitish stuff could be from mating yes or it could be urates.  Only time will tell if the green anole is pregnant.  However, they do interbreed but not as well as with the same species.  They have a lot of similarities.
Are you sure they mated, or do you have a male dominating another male?  Do you know the sex of them for sure?
