Question
I just bought my water dragon from Petsmart about four days ago (christmas eve). It's about 8 in long in a tank thats 1.5 ft deep, 3 ft long, and 1 ft wide. It has a 75 watt basking light but i dont have a thermometer so I can't confirm the temperature. I spray the tank regularly to keep up the humidity. It seems to be very comfortable with me and its environment. I'm new to taking care of dragons so I hope this good. The problem is, however, that its not eating. All I could get at the time I got it was Rep-Cal Juvenile Bearded Dragon food and im not sure if this is acceptable. At present, I am unable to get crickets and/or mealworms because i have no money. I'll take any advice. Please and thank you.;)

Answer
Hell Carlie,

How tall is the tank?  They love to climb & need vertical space.
The temperatures are very important.  Water dragons need a basking spot of around 90-95 but no higher or they can get overheated.  The humidity should be around 70% humidity.
So, you do need to get a digital probe or a temp gun, along with a hygrometer to measure the humidity.
You will also need a UVB tube bulb.  The best one to get is the Reptisun 10 tube bulb.  You can get it from this site here for a great price:

Do you have a large water bowl or dish for him to swim around in?
The food will do for a short period of time.  They really can't subsist solely on pellets, nutritionally.  He will need crickets, mealworms & other worms, when you can get them.

Calcium supplementation is important also.  He will need calcium 4-5 times per week to help with growth & development.
