Question
hi i was wondering how long bearded dragons can hold their breath. when my beardie is in the water he likes to float around with his head under water, almost looking like he is dead. is this normal?

Answer
HI Sejal,
I'm not sure how long they can hold their breath(its one of those things that no one really knows for sure) but some beardies do like to swim under water and also float around.
When they float, they are very relaxed.  Be sure to never leave your beardie alone while in the water. Here is a good link of bathtime do's and do nots. http://www.exclusivedragons.com/CareInfoLibrary/Bath.html
I would not let him go for more than a few minutes without coming up for air.  You can also place a rock or branch in the tub so that he can climb on that if needed.
