QuestionIs there any disease that a Bearded Dragon lizard can get that can affect a human's respitory system if a person has a lung disease? We are thinking about getting a few and a person in our house has a lung disease and we want to make sure that this does not become an issue.
Thank you,
Susan
AnswerHello Susan,
The only problems that can be associated with keeping reptiles are salmonella or worms, etc. That is only due to hygiene problems.
In all of the years of keeping reptiles, I have never had a problem with salmonella. You run the risk of salmonella more from cutting raw chicken than you do handling reptiles.
Just keep everything clean, & there should be no problems in having a bearded dragon in the house.
Remember, to house each dragon separately, they do much better that way.
