WE RECENTLY AQUIRED TWO RABBITS. THE FEMALE BECAME PREGNANT AND WHEN IT GOT CLOSE TO THE DUE DATE WE REMOVED THE MALE. THE KITS ARE NOW ABOUT 3 WEEKS OLD (WE HAVE 6 BABIES), WHEN IS IT SAFE TO LET THE MALE BACK INTO THE CAGE. WE HEARD THAT A MALE RABBIT WILL KILL BABIES.THE BABIES ARE HEALTHY AND SO IS THE MOTHER.


THANK YOU FOR GIVING US SUCH A QUICK ANSWER. WE INTEND TO BREED AND TRY TO LET THEM BREED A COUPLE TIMES, BECAUSE WE HAVE PEOPLE WHO WANT THEM. IS IT HEALTHY FOR THE FEMALE TO BREED AGAIN SO SOON?

I am unable to answer breeding questions, as we rescue unwanted rabbits, of which we currently have over 150 in this city alone.

However, my impression is that it is bad for the mother's health to have her be pregnant more than a couple of times a year (it would be like a human having a baby then immediately having another one and another one).
