Question
our bun runs free in my daughter's bunny-proofed room.she is about 3mn. old and uses the litter box. she also uses my daughter's bed, even when my daughter is asleep in it. is there any way to stop this without caging her?please help.

Answer
Dear Johnna,

First step is to have her spayed, though she is a bit too young at this point.  A female can be spayed as young as 5 months, though I prefer to wait until 8-12 so the estrogen can do its work in skeletal formation.

Your bunny is marking the bed (and your daughter) as her own property.  A high rabbit compliment, if unpleasant!

It can be quite difficult to break a bunny of this habit, but now's the time to start.  If you write to behavior@rabbit.org, the behavior expert there will be able to offer you some helpful tips.  My strong suit is health problems, and to tell you the truth, I'm better at those than with behavioral problems.  (My rabbits rule my life, and have me completely trained.)

I hope this helps. Please write back if you have more questions.
