Question
My Grandaughters Rabbits Head Sways from side to side Why is this and what is the causes it. Is it DANGEROUS can anything be done. Many Thanks For Your Time Best Regards Bruce Pollit

Answer
Dear Bruce,

You don't give me much detail to work with.  When you say "swaying" do you mean that he scans from side to side, as if he's "reading"?  How long has this been going on?  How old is the rabbit?  Is he an albino?

Some rabbits--and particularly albinos--"scan".  That is, they move their heads from side to side just slightly.  It's not a life-threatening problem, and if the bunny is eating well, producing normal poops, and generally acting fine otherwise, then I would not worry.  You may just have a "scanner."

If this is a new behavior and the rabbit is an adult, then it would be wise to take him for a check up to rule out ear infection or other problem.  You can find a good vet here:

I hope this helps.
