QuestionHow do you tell if a rabbit has a winter coat and can stand low temperatures?
Are bigger poops better? I'm finding a few that are maybe twice usual size.
AnswerTom,
If rabbit has been outside all summer and into the fall,it would be safe to keep him outside for the winter as well. Putting a rabbit outside from heated house into the cold is very dangerous and should never be done. They grow winter coats naturally outside and you'd notice the extreme shedding in the late summer and fall. They usually go a little darker and thicker in the winter. If you provide a dry,draft-free house in the hutch, with lot's of straw,,he'll be just fine.
larger poops are normal..not to worry :)
