Question
First I would like to say thank god you are here! I am a new bunny owner so I don't know that much about them. And I always have questions but no one to ask. Ok so my question is, do bunnies like to sleep on or in anything? I have a huge cage for him that I keep him in at night but when I stick in a little house he can get in, he never goes in it? And he chews on everything! So I don't think I should put a blanket or towel in there. When he was younger he used to sleep in this wicker ball, but he is too big for anything like that now, do you have any suggestions for anything?

Answer
Dear Stephanie,

Congratulations on your new pal!  Bunnies enjoy a variety of surfaces for resting.  Ours all run free, and are not caged, so we have had the opportunity to see that they love to stretch out on cool tile when it's warm, but they also enjoy a soft, 100% cotton bath mat for snuggling when they feel more "nesty."  :)

We buy 100% cotton mats very cheaply at Marshall's, but you can get them many places, such as Target, etc.  Buy a bunch, so you can launder them if he has "accidents".

The litterbox is another popular snoozy spot.  We fill ours with about 1" of Feline Pine (or other pelleted sawdust litter--no clay!) and cover that with a soft layer of grass hay.  Great for both munching and sleeping.
