Loss of my Rabbit and Support for the other

Question
I have two lops that are inseprable, this morning we woke up to find the male dead, he was fine yesterday and then died over night which looked as if in his sleep.  My female was with him and we took him our about 8 this morning.  I was just wondering what we can do to support her.  We didn't want to get another rabbit but would she be ok on her own now?

Answer
Firstly, try to make sure that nothing else in her routine changes until she has had time to adjust. The only exception being her diet, if it needs changing. Make sure she has plenty of fresh hay (oat, grass, or timothy) and you can add a little rolled oats to her food each day. These will provide her with plenty of fibre to help keep serious digestive problems due to stress away.

You will need to be there for her, too. If she is used to having a companion, she will be very lonely. Be sure to spend plenty of time with her. Rabbits love to be pet on the cheeks and the head, and grooming each other in those areas is how they show affection. You can step in and "groom" her in these areas to help comfort her.
