Question
 Hello there,
I have two dutch dwarf's and they have been indoors
for the past two yrs. This yr. I'm building a cage
along the outside of the veranda. I'm wondering if
it's safe to do so with the high temperature's that
the summer brings. And of course extreme cold in the
winter.I put a small window so as to access them from the inside.Their also in the shade of the house
and a small tree. Can they handle the change  without too much stress? And anything else that you can offer would help. Thanks, rick

Answer
You can put rabbits outside, but you need to monitor the outside temperature.  When it consistently gets above about 85, it's time to move them inside or make provisions to keep them cool.  In the winter, if it gets below freezing either bring them in or insulate them really well and make sure that their water does not freeze.

The change shouldn't be an issue, but be sure to read http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/articles/summer.shtml about keeping them cool outside.
