Checking new borns

Our rabbit gave birth to two kits 3 days ago.  Since then we haven't seen them as she covered them over with her fur.  The following day they were definitely alive as the fur moved.  However, I'm not sure if they are still okay, and am aware that they should not be touched at this early stage.  Should I just leave it for a few more days, or attempt to check them out?  If I should check, what is the best way to do this?

hiamanda -do the following:

take the doe out and give her a treat
soil your hands in the cage material open the nest-check babies and remove any dead ones.
recover them carefully and then replace the doe and just let her get on with things.
