QuestionIt has been a few years since I raised rabbits, but I have always wondered about a few of my rabbits that had spots on their livers when I butchered them. The white spots appeared to be all throughout the liver. They seemed healthy on the surface. No indication of being sick at all. Good appetite, etc.

Without histopathology, there is no sure way to know what the lesions are. It could be fatty liver disease (hepatic lipidosis), which can be caused by various things; it could be a sign of parasitic infection, or of toxic insult from poison or bacteria. A good rabbit vet:

can take a tissue sample and have it sent to a lab for analysis.
