seagrass mat

i have just bought a house rabbit but he likes chewing so i bought a seagrass mat,is it ok for him to eat the mat

Hi Alison,

yes, seagrass is known to be a safe thing to chew on for rabbits, in that it is not poisonous or toxic to rabbits.  I would watch him a little more closely just to make sure his digestive system can handle the seagrass okay (like he doesn't get gas or diarrhea or something because he specifically can't handle this plant).  I would doubt this would happen, it's just a good rule of thumb to watch them more carefully when they are starting to eat something new.
