5 year old dwarf rabbit excessive shedding.

Question
I was left with a 5 yr old black dwarf rabbit named Thumper.About a week ago she began shedding so much that she looks gray on half her body. I live in Detroit, MI and Thumper stays in my laundry room in her wire cage. The only thing different in her life was I purchased a pink Healthy pet odor control pet bedding. After I noticed how bad she looked I removed the pet bedding. She still looks like she is loosing excessive hair in patches yet shedding all over. Help!

hi maureen it sounds as though she is going through a heavy moult-rabbits that live indoors don't need a big heavy coat like those outside so she is shedding what she does not need .don't think the bedding makes any difference unless it was making her hot.
