My first rabbit show!

Question
Hi!
I own two 8 month old Holland Lops.  I plan to show them at a local
county fair for the FFA.  I have a bunch of questions about shows and
stuff!
Ok, do most shows let rabbits share a cage?  Mine have been buddies
forever and would not enjoy being kept apart.
One of my lops is neutered - is that a problem for showing?
How does the showing work? i really dont know ANYTHING about rabbit
shows.
Thank you so much!
Kaela

Answer
Hi Kaela,

A few things.  I have never dealt with a show for FFA but I do know that both ARBA and most Fair shows will not allow you to show rabbits that have been altered. (neutered).  The whole purpose of showing rabbits is trying to improve the standard of perfection and if they are fixed you can't do this.

I have never been to a show that allows rabbits to share cages.  Ask the chair person for your FFA committee sometimes if you are a first year shower they will make exceptions.  If this is a show where you just bring the rabbits there for one day in your own cages then it shouldn't matter but if it is a fair show where you have to leave them there all week they will most likely want them displayed separately.

I hope  I was able to help you some.

Sincerely

Pam
