QuestionMy rabitt is with the vet.
But not much progress is happening.
This rabitt would bound up to me as she lives with her mate and both run free inthe house. She would run after me and beg for food daily! This morning she hid in a corner. She would not eat. She has no stools. She is floppy to pick up. No signs of wry neck... nothing on xray for blockage, some signs of teeth spurs which have now been filed and a mouth ulcer which has bust and seems better under pain killer. But is very lively for 10 seconds out of every 20 minutes. This rabitt is normally like a dog and bounds everywhere and is a superstar among friends. She is now lethargic and nobody knows why. Any ideas?

AnswerDear Andrew,
First thing, DO NOT separate her from her mate! A sick bunny needs her bonded partner more than anything else.
Please go here
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/sickbun.html
to find out how to take a bunny's temperature, which is absolutely *critical* in a case like this. I'm glad you got her to the vet, because it sounds as if she was certainly in pain. Please go here:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/ileus.html
for instructions on how to treat/reverse ileus. But remember that ileus is only a symptom, and the vet will have to do bloodwork, take temperature, etc. to find out what is *causing* this sudden problem.
I hope she's doing okay.
