rabbits mateing

WE have a 6 year old male dutch and dwarf cross and recently started peeing blood. We brought him to his vet and had exrays and ultrasound and then surgery. It ended up being a female rebbit and what was causing the blood in urine was her urterus was split in two and filled with fluid. we thought she was a he because the vet told us when the rabbit was 4 weeks old and we first brought her to him. Also we had bought stuff animals for company and she tended to mate with them and hump them. she also pulls out fur once a year. so my question is when rabbits mate are the females on top or bottom or do we have a confussed rabbit. thanks for your time. Also we had the rabbit spaded or nuttered during surgery and she is fine now. Thanks shannon

  well, when rabbits mate the male is definately the one on top.  Sorry to hear that your rabbit went through so much. ...but I'm glad all is well, and no, your rabbit is not confused...they simply do their humping to show dominance.  best of luck to you and your rabbit, Elizabeth
